Scott Bauer started in the brokerage business in 1977 and specialized in the fixed income markets. He opened up the People’s Republic of China for Salomon Brothers in 1983 from their Tokyo office, launched Bear Stearns’ non-Japan Asian fixed income activities in 1993, and assisted in the launch of BNP’s U.S. capital markets initiative in 1997, where he was the Executive Managing Director and Head of High Yield Fixed Income Sales and Research. Since 2000, Scott has owned Bauer Capital and Consulting, a firm that has, among other projects, advised Hypovereinsbank (HVB) in the formulation of its strategic plan for business in Japan and analyzed HVB’s New York stressed and distressed portfolios and advised the bank on how to “work-out” the portfolios. In addition to 1st BridgeHouse Securities, Scott is now involved with Japanese alternative assets including real estate, private equity and stressed asset rehabilitation strategies. He is located in Greenwich, Connecticut.
